The definition of 'sin' must be established to understand the doctrine of sin. According to Oxford Languages, sin is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.
If throwing away junk that no longer serves the process it used to serve is reasonable and logical. It would make sense for God to send the unbelieving sinner on Judgement Day to Hell. It doesn't seem fair though, why does God have to do this? The reason why, is this:
God made it very easy to enter Heaven. He gives you chance after chance to get right with Him. God wants to have a relationship with everyone on earth, He doesn't desire that any of us perish in Hell (2 Peter 3:9). A good earthly father will not desire that his son goes to jail, and neither does our Heavenly Father desire that His sons and daughters go to Hell.
How did God make it very easy to enter Heaven? It is simply confessing with your mouth that you believe in the LORD Jesus Christ and that He rose from the grave (Romans 10:9). This is done in recognition that you are sinful (Romans 1:23).
Jesus Christ lived a hard life for you, so you can get saved! Satan will give you an easy life, so you can suffer! (Matthew 7:13-14).
In summary:
Sin is the law broken against God = Death
Lawless Souls = Deportation into Hell
Saved Souls = Entry into Heaven.
